Since 2014, both Ukraine and Russia have witnessed big explosions at ammunition depots. The total mass of destroyed ammunition has now reached about one million tonnes. In the process, many people have been killed or maimed; economic loses are estimated in billions of dollars; and the air and soil have been significantly polluted.
